Mia - End of Year Film / Echoes of Monday - End of Year Film

Tuesday 23rd

This was my only filming day for this film and it was two scenes. We were at location of another cast members house and we used their back garden for the scene. The scene was a close party of just a few of us. Were talking, laughing and drinking, some of us were even smoking. The context of the scene was that its Sonny's 18th birthday so he's having some drinks with his mates round his. The other scene is the first scene where they meet at a party and he offers her a cigarette. 

The character I played in this film was called George and I say the line "talk back you knob." As much as this wasn't a stretch for me, it was fun to be back in front of a camera and have a chance to show of characterisation through smaller roles that may not say a lot. 

Echoes of Monday

In this film I play the character Jason Winter, he is a business man with insomnia who believes he is living in a loop since he keeps waking up in his bed when he falls asleep at his desk. Throughout the film he starts to progressively get crazier until, the final day when he switches up all his work clothes and decides he doesn't care what happens anymore since he believes he will just wake up and relive the same day again. 

This was a fun film to film and I found the challenge hard of remembering that when we would do the shot again it was a different day so I always had to have a different reaction, so I would get confused and so I would have to refamiliarize myself with my script. This was also the first film where I have done voice acting work since I have lines where I speak to myself in my head so that was also fun to try out. 

Monday 22nd April

Today was the first day of filming for this film, I was filming with Alan who played "Big Boss." We got quite a couple of scenes done today. We started off with doing the scenes where I'm wearing a white shirt and normal suit trousers. In these scenes I do three different reactions to show it's 3 different days. After this I go and get changed quickly and shot on a pink shirt, some new trousers and tie my tie around my head. When the boss looks at me this time I storm into his office and slam my hands down on his desk and start asking him why he continues to stare at me before confusing him and running off because I tell him I'm living in a loop. The scenes after this we did was me snatching a bottle of water off of my co-workers then throwing it all over Alan, before I take my leave and run at a window to jump out of it. 

Thursday 25th April

Todays scenes were with Beth this time who plays "Tracey," in these scenes its my reaction and dialogue to being late over and over again and her pulling me up on my lateness. I get more and more gradually annoyed till one I just stop completely and think to myself. The last day when I'm wearing all the different clothes I come running into work late, ignore Tracey and then push her out the way telling her I don't need to listen to her anymore. The scenes after this were me falling asleep at my desk and seeing all the mountain pile of work I need to do. 

Monday 29th April

I was supposed to be filming twice today but one of the other actors was sick, so I only filmed the scenes that I was in. These scenes were me waking up to my alarm going off and a montage of me picking me clothes out and getting ready, making a coffee and watering my plant. As the loop in the characters mind continues we switch it up by this time me going to choose my normal clothes but instead I choose the other clothes, we also got a shot of me tying the tie around my head. Instead of watering my plant this time I just throw the water at it cause I can't be bothered and instead of a coffee I grab a bottle of wine out my fridge and start to drink that. 

I then went and did the voice over lines that my character says in his head. 

Thursday 2nd May

With Elliott back in college we finally got to do the scenes where I am outside running. I managed to grab some extras for this as well to make the street look busy. I come running round a wall and bump into Noah, while flicking through the papers in my hand and then I slam into Elliott who is the random business man I keep walking into and losing all my papers. The final day where I'm wearing the other clothes, I run in between Noah and Lily holding hands to break them up telling them to get out my way. I then charge at Elliott and shoulder barge him on the grass and run off whooping in joy. This filming day was a workout and a half as I had to do a lot of running and a lot of practices of barging into Elliott as to not hurt him and get it right, we both said we would just fully commit and he told me if I need to go hard to do it so that it just looks believable. 

Thursday 9th May

We had to refilm bits of the first day of filming since the room we originally filmed in when throwing the water at Alan didn't match with the office room we filmed in when doing the scenes where I arrive to work late. The scenes we had to refilm was just me throwing the water again, just so this time the camera can pick it up and the scenes where I'm reacting to Alan staring at me each day before I charge his office. 

Friday 10th May

For the last filming day it wasn't a long one since it was only like 3-4 shots. It was me laid in the hospital bed after jumping out the window, slowly realizing I wasn't in a loop. My phone goes ping and I slightly move my head (since I had a neck brace) to find my phone and grab it to see that the boss has fired me. So I lay back down and sigh staring up into the ceiling.
