Hunt Auditions

We let Callum know before-hand who we were auditioning with for the audition pieces since they came out on the weekend. So while I had free time I was at home breaking down both the scenes 'Fra' was in for the audition pieces to understand the character and how he feels. 
I deduced that Fra was more out of the friend group then he wants to be because he has a lot of personal issues going on, regarding to his Nan being very sick so he has to look after both his little brother and his Nan. He also is terrified of being split up from them all because of social services, so when Peter goes missing and Fra has that interaction with Eugene I saw it more as a cry for help with Fra since its out of character for him to break down like that. I didn't see it as a burst of anger, I saw it as more everything was getting on top of him and he finally had too much and so he broke down and didn't know how to control all the emotions he was feeling and so he lashes out and attacks Eugene. 
For the scene with Danielle, I don't see Fra as scared I see it more as he's given up and doesn't care what she's going to do to him so he puts up a big man persona in her face as he has bigger concerns like finding Peter. I think there is a little bit of fright from Fra but I do think it isn't very visible. 

Monday 4th February

For today we had the auditions for Hunt in the afternoon. I ran the scene over with Will a few times and asked him, that when I tackle him was it okay and I wasn't hurting you. We made sure to practice a few times and we did it safely as I used to play rugby so I know how to tackle someone with injuring them. 

Fra and Eugene

When it was our time we went in the auditions and I started panicking since I can't do an Irish accent even though Callum was saying it didn't really matter towards the auditions. When we went in, he asked us why these characters and I explained everything to Callum about what I had deduced over the weekend when I broke the scenes down. After giving my explanation about my character breakdown he asked me if Fra was in the right or wrong about how he reacts towards Eugene. 
I said I think its a bit of both because he has the right to have that moment and breakdown to Eugene but I think he goes around it all the wrong way. We then did our audition piece with the tackle and Callum told us to wait around incase we get called back. 

Fra and Danielle

For Fra and Danielle, I again explained to Callum how Fra was feeling and how the only thing on his mind was finding Peter and not what Danielle will do to him so he puts up a front. I still showed a little bit of the fear but not too much. I came this audition feeling a little bit like I could of done it better but me and Sophia didn't get the time to practice due to not being able to find the time with other projects going on. 

Chemistry Reads

Callum had chosen scene 16 to do with the group I got paired with in the chemistry reads. I decided to direct the scene and get it on its feet on how I picture it. I helped Scarlett a lot with Lisa with how Lisa is as a character and how at this moment shes ditsy but shes really whiny since her new clothes are ruined so I told her to be dramatic and I said to Hayley who was Niamh to be a little annoyed at her constant whining but also make sure shes not being too cold as they are friends. I then added in Eugene and Fra into the scene and thought it went well with us all together. Then when I added Steve I told Olly to try and creep Lisa and Fra out and make it seem like it was blood on the statue and not paint, just to mess with us. Then after 10 minutes we went and performed it for Callum who said he liked it and told me well done for bringing the scene to life.
