Peter Pan Show Days

Wednesday 13th

Cast 1 was on the first day and we had a different type of audience with it being a relaxed performance. The day before the show we had a talk about to what to expect from the audience and we were given the chance to put our name forward if we wanted to meet the audience before they came to sit in.I asked George if I would be allowed to put my name due to my experiences and so it was nice to meet and greet them in and see how excited they all were for Peter Pan.
I was a lost boy in this cast so I was in my lost boy costume ready for our part. I

 first com on sage to help with the flying, I made sure to not look at the audience but instead look at the floor so I didn't trip over something when lifting someone. After the flying it was then scene change for lost boys. I made sure to skip onto stage as character with Alan and then we both grabbed the front bed and moved it to the back, I also had to move the door frames at the back that we used for the windows since someone had forgotten to take them off so when I did come back on the pirates were already coming down the stairs onto the stage.
I volunteered myself to also be the crocodile with Al'ayah and I fully committed to it I was walking in time with the beats of the song and made sure I wasn't smiling but instead an angry expression to show the crocodile's expression for being angry at Hook. 
As soon as we had both chased Hook off as the crocodile I then got ready to come back on as a lost boy where I ran to all of my friends to make sure they were okay and then started searching our camp to see what the pirates had destroyed. Tinkerbell then flew in whilst we were all talking and was telling us to shoot "a Wendy" which we all thought was a bird but turned out to be Wendy, our new mother. I made sure to stay very expressive and always with a buddy as I felt like I bounced off well when working with someone facial expression and body language wise. We then had to hide the body from Peter in any way we wanted by putting ourselves in an awkward position. After that we sang about building a house for Wendy which was the first song for the lost boys and the fun one for me. I partnered up with Ben as we had to find a partner, we used this song to show off the Lost boys wild side and how uncivilised there and dirty, like I started scratching Ben's back with a come and started prodding him with it before then combing each others hair and pulling weird faces cause it was new to us.After we had done our choreographed piece, we left the stage still singing the end of the song and that was the end of the act for the lost boys.
After the interval, I was the crocodile again with Al'ayah and this time instead of chasing Hook, we were coming on stage to save Peter and Wendy. The brave girls were on next doing their introduction and using the audience in their piece, after that it was the lost boys again where Wendy was reading a story to us and then we fall asleep in weird ways before being attacked by pirates, I decided to hide near the audience. After we come back on after the attack the pirates take us off one by one but no pirate had grabbed me so I was acting lost in the middle trying to not look at other lost boys being dragged off. Then a pirate dragged me off as I was backing up off stage slowly. 

The next lost boy scene I wasn't in since I wasn't a main lost boy I stood at the side waiting for my queue of when I run on to fight a pirate with Nathaniel. I accidentally chased Aiden off stage instead of staying on the stage when he got pushed off the boat. So I had to come back on during the marching for our last song with the lost boys before going home to where Wendy lives and acting like wild boys in the new house we were given. 

For the night show some things got changed where we practiced the lost boys being captured I made the decision to go to the back and sit on the fire with another lost boy who was Sienna and then we would get dragged off together. We also practiced over the last song since it needed work. The show for the night was the same and I managed to stay on stage this time when fighting Aiden instead if running off stage with him. 

Thursday 14th

For both morning and night shows it was the same since I was a lost boy again, there was just a few changes. I was getting dragged off by someone else when the lost boys got captured. I also managed to make the beginning lost boy scene since I only moved he bed because someone else got the doors/windows this time. The first song and choreograph was swapped with Ben where this time he was prodding and poking me and scratching my back. I was also fighting a different pirate this time. For the last song we had to practice again this time it was better but you could still tell there was some people still not singing or really knowing the words. I was the crocodile again today and it was the same as yesterday and it would be my final time doing the crocodile.
We also did a full run through of the next casts show during the time between both the morning and night shows. So that we could be prepared and ready. We were pretty confident and Kelly was also confident with us as she had no worries and was telling us to get ready to smash it. 

Friday 15th

Today was my big day as it was when I was John. I had been worrying throughout the week as I had been slowly losing my voice and so I was scared today as I would have to sing more songs than when I was a lost boy.

The show starts off with me and Wendy already on stage and she is reading me the story of Peter Pan, before father comes in complaining about his tie and the breaking out into a song. During, fathers part of the song I was gesturing to Michael and Wendy that father was being all angry over his tie and making them laugh, before it was our time to start singing after Wendy had mentioned she was a Darling. We start off by kicking our feet in the air while laid on our beds and then Michael and I go round in circles marching before sword fighting on the bed. I kept forgetting that I was supposed to be singing when doing the sword fighting but I managed to remember when doing the night show. I always made sure I was protective over Michael so that when they were crying over the medicine me and Wendy went and comforted Michael to make sure he was okay.
After we had done the beginning song and the medicine scene it was time to sleep while Wendy and Peter do their introduction. I had to stay asleep til I get awoken by Wendy where I have to wake up and say something while being tired then roll over and go back to sleep. Til Wendy tries a second time to which I wake up properly and notice Peter is here and then I go wake Michael. When I wake up Michael, Peter then teaches us to fly. I had to be extra expressive when flying so the audience wouldn't notice the people lifting me up in the air and would be focused on me saying my line and my facial expressions. After the flying, we had to sing 'come away reprise' where we had to be in a harmony as well, showing teamwork. 

After the 'come away reprise' we left the stage to get ready for the lost boys to enter Neverland, where I was off for a few minutes while they do there introduction before pirates attack, after the pirates attack Wendy get's shot and Peter arrives. They talk about Wendy being shot and when Peter sends the Lost Boys to go build a house me and Michael run in tired to show how tiresome flying is, we greet Peter and we refuse to build the house for them before going into the song 'Wendy's song'. For 'Wendy's song' I start off by teaching a Lost Boy all the new different stuff they're learning from listening while also singing along. I then help in the building off the house and get my top hat stolen, by Peter and a hole punched through it for the chimney where I acted upset. We then go into the second part of the song where John has a little solo paragraph about the lost boys not knowing what a comb is, this boosted my confidence because I sang in front of an audience alone, something I was nervous to do. Michael and I then watch the lost boys' disgusting habits, acting disgusted by what they're saying as well, before being one of the last ones left on stage. This was my last scene of the first act.

For act two it starts off with where Peter and Wendy left off on the Lagoon with a wounded Peter, before being saved by the crocodile and then it went into the brave girls scene. After the brave girls, it was the lost boys in their hole getting a book read by Wendy, I was also in this scene, I had to be upset when we got told to go to sleep and when Peter came home and shouted at us all for calling him father. Peter and Wendy break out into a song where I pretended I fell asleep but actually I was listening the whole time watching upset, I placed my head in my arms and hugged my hat to make it seem believable. I would then walk over to Wendy when she was sat by herself, to say that I wanted to go home. The lost boys overhear and try and stop us.

 

I go over to Michael and grab him to say were going and then Peter starts getting upset and shouting about how he went back once and was replaced, so I covered Micheal's ears and hugged him till Peter stopped shouting. The lost boy then find out they can come with so I go and help them pack before being told by the twins that Peter doesn't want to come. That's when the pirates attack the brave girls and we hear all the screams, I get ready to fight but then Peter tells us to hide so I grab Michael and take him to safety. We stay hidden where the audience are until the brave girls drum has been played signalling that they have beat the pirates, but its a trap when we come out of hiding the pirates instead grab us all and kidnap us one by one. 

My next scene was when I get dragged onto the pirate boat, on the night show I had forgotten John's glasses and so I had to pretend to have blurred vision just for the night show. The morning show I had remembered them so it was okay.We wait for Hook to give us his speech before seeing Peter tricking Hook, to which then afterwards we have to pretend to act scared when getting thrown into the hold and crawling out the other side cause Peter had saved us. We then wait for Peter to shout us back on stage and we charge and I end up fighting Smee with Michael and pushing him off of the boat. We do a celebratory dance and song 'we're going home', before actually flying off home and showing the lost boys that they have a new home.
