Little Women Auditions Tuesday 25th April - Jo and Laurie Duologue Today was the day we had the little women auditions and I was 6th on the list with Jess, as I was auditioning with her doing a duologue for Jo and Laurie. We practiced through it in the green screen room hoping to get past the awkwardness. When we went into the room it wasn't too awkward as we had already got past the awkward stage the main problem was me staying consistent with the accent which in the end wasn't a problem. At first when we went into the room we had the usual of asking us why we went for this character, I replied with "I've never really seen myself wanting to do something this classical so I felt like it would be an added challenge for me and really push me out of my comfort zone to try something new." Section 1: Rationale I came to this college with hardly little introduction to acting, since I came from a different college originally doing sport. I took a liking for acting when I hit year 7 and 8 but nothing really came from it. I think what made me remember why I liked it so much the first time was the creativity side of things and the thrill of it all, even though I hadn’t done any shows prior to joining. After, starting the course I’ve loved it since day 1, there has been certain times where I’ve thought if I’m on the right career path or not but never anything major to sway my mind away from it all. I feel like I have grown a lot since my very first stage performance for ghost light tours which gave me the confidence to go into that audition room for Wizard of Oz and audition for the Tinman, which looking back I’m glad I did as I loved every minute of that performance and I loved the cast I was with.
