Candidate Declaration - I confirm that the attached portfolio is all my own work and does not include any work completed by anyone other than myself The Show Journey My journey preparing and being in this show has been a massive challenge because of how raw and real the characters are. I started off this process finding my own monologue and performing it for my audition, this is different to anything we have ever done before since we weren't allowed to say what role we wanted or choose a piece from the script to perform. When I had performed my monologue I believe it was the best I have ever done an audition, it wasn't perfect there were still things I needed to work on like my travelling or if I'm going to stand up, stand up for a reason. Other than that, my feedback was mostly positive and it showed how much In had put the effort into learning that monologue and how it also fit the theme of the show we were doing.   Thursday 25th April This was day after cast list, so me and Will ended up swapping around doing the first scene. When one of us was doing Dr. Spivey for one flew over the other would do Dr. Vonshochoky for radium girls. At first I was holding back a little bit as I had never attempted the German accent before so I was a little scared to take on this challenge of the German accent. So in my own time I had asked Callum if he could quickly teach me a little bit of it just to get me started and teach me the changes on the scripts so I understood what letters were different to the English language. I then went through my script and changed it all to be more German changing words like 'and' to 'und' and words like 'thank you' to 'danke. Then I went and tackled the accent for my first scene and it wasn't too bad I was just a little fast cause I was trying to get it over with since it was my first time trying this accent.  Monday 29th April So on Monday I knew

Wednesday 29th April / Thursday 30th April I didn't do much of One Flew Over on these days as I was running back and forth between both shows but I did get the first two scenes of Dr Spivey done. I also jumped in for a Scanlon since one of them was off ill and the other was needed for Radium girls. When Olly had returned though for Scanlon I placed myself in the background of the institute to just be part of the scenes and give it more of a mental institute feeling. Tuesday 7th May Today I was Dr. Spivey and we did all the act one scenes and I feel comfortable with this character I just needed to lose the script asap. Since I understand the character and have him in my head how I want to portray him I just need to get off script now and bring it more to life. So when it wasn't my scenes I was off at the side trying to learn my lines whilst also watching what scenes they were doing.  Thursday 9th May So today was the first day I received an added extra challenge for Cheswick. So

My production role for both of the shows was sound. For this I had to make a power point with the other people that were on sound and that was Jess and Harvey. We started off by getting a tech script for both of them and going through the scripts and sorted out music and just random sound effects that were written down in the stage directions. After this we made our power point based solely on One Flew Over since it was the show we had finished the tech script for fully and we added on our power point what we would be working on next. As part of this production role we have also made a sound cue document, with details of what the sounds signify and what the cue lines are when the sound is played and what page it is labelled on the tech script. I have downloaded all the sounds for everyone so now all that is needed is to get them onto Q Labs so we have all the sounds ready for the show.
