Assignment 2: Task 1 - Wizard of Oz Audition Process

Monday 7th November 2022 - Auditions Today were the auditions for Wizard of Oz, I had chosen to audition mainly for the Tinman, but I also chose the lion for my backup audition. My Tinman audition was at 12.15am and I had already learnt the lines over the weekend I was just struggling with the Tinman's movement and was conflicted with how I should deliver my lines. Before my audition I helped other people practice their roles but then also focused on trying to see how much of the lion I could learn before I had that audition. My audition for Tinman came along and I went with in the room with a smile on my face and I was a tad nervous. I got asked why I had gone for the role, to which I answered with a stutter because I was nervous, my answer was 'The Tinman was the one I remember most from the film and the one I had more interest in altogether.' Kane read out Dorothy's lines to keep the flow going and help me out, I didn't use my script once as I knew the entire aud

Short Suspense / Horror Films - Whitby Project

We started off the Whitby project by getting all the film students into our dance studio whilst Kane read out what groups we had been put into. I was put into a group for a film called the Cult and the director was Bailey Gamble. We were then told to get into our groups as we were getting told what the film was going to be about and the characters that were in the film. After our brief introduction to what we were expecting going into this project we had a group chat on teams where Bailey had sent us a schedule and a script with around two lines since it was a suspense piece and relied more on our facial expressions and body language.  On the teams group chat we were also given a cast list and information of the types of clothing each character would be wearing. I got 'Couple 2 man' and Rebecca got 'Couple 2 Woman' we were told to wear casual clothing.  Wednesday 2nd November 2022 Today was the day we left for Whitby, when we arrived at the filming location we got taske

Assignment 1: Task 4

Promenade and Immersive Promenade Theatre is when the audience stands or follows the actors around through their performance. This type of theatre is used to get the audience involved in what is happening it is mainly seen in tour like performances.  Immersive Theatre is when the audience participates in the action of the story, by either speaking some of the lines or influencing the outcome of the story. This again gets the audience involved by allowing them to converse with the actors and interact with their surroundings and breaks the 4th wall. Ghost Light Tours Evaluation - Assignment 1: Task 5

Evaluation My character in The Globe was part of a duo act with Will, which was also part of a bigger act with a few other classmate’s acts. We were part of the Vaudeville piece which was around the 15-minute mark into the tour. Our piece was a comedy act where we did a little bit of dancing with umbrellas and hitting each other with them while speaking a snippet out of a part of a poem, Kelly had chosen for us. We started off with having to come up with a name for our characters and a dark secret which was incorporated into our act by Alan when he introduces us, it also gives us that feeling of that were actually part of a real immersive horror experience. We came up with the names Frank and Freddie, William was Freddie and I was Frank, our dark secret was our triplet brother was shot with a prop gun during a performance but no one knows if it was intentional or not. We focused on that backstory further between ourselves just so we could get into the mind of the characters, we didn’

The Globe Project / Assignment 1: Task 3

Monday 3rd October  Today was the tour of the globe, so after coming up contributing some phobias to the class that we could use to scare the audience we got told that instead of taking that approach, Josh who works at the Globe and put the event together with Kelly told us he wanted to go down the history route of the Globe instead of going full out horror. We were tasked with coming up with some ideas and taking notes of what we thought we could bring to the Globe while going around and looking at it and also getting some of the history behind the Globe as well.  The Globe History - Assignment 1: Task 4 - B So, when getting took around the Globe we got some history of the place about who owned the Globe, when it was made, the different people / bands that have performed there on the stage, also history behind deaths that have occurred in the building and superstitions like the whistling, saying 'Macbeth' and the Ghost Light. The Globe theatre was built in 1913 by two brothers
